The Southold Fire Department is proud to serve our community beyond emergency response through education, outreach, and volunteer opportunities.
Our Junior Firefighter program is open to young people ages 14-17 who are interested in learning about firefighting and emergency services. Juniors learn fire safety, first aid, and teamwork skills.
Learn MoreWe offer free fire safety presentations for schools, daycares, and community organizations. Our members teach fire prevention, escape planning, and what to do in an emergency.
Learn MoreEach year during Fire Prevention Week in October, we open our doors to the community. Visitors can tour our firehouse, meet our members, and see our apparatus up close.
Learn MoreThe Southold Fire Department proudly participates in local parades including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and other community celebrations.
Learn MoreThe Southold Fire Department is always looking for dedicated individuals to join our volunteer family. No experience is necessary — we provide all the training you need.
As a volunteer firefighter, you'll receive professional training, serve your neighbors in their time of need, and become part of a proud tradition dating back to 1886.
